What is community safety?
Community safety is about reducing and preventing crime and creating a community where people feel safe and connected. The safer people feel, the more likely they are to participate fully in community life.
The draft Community Safety Plan 2023-2026 provides an outline of how we will work together with our partners and the community to address issues that impact community safety.
To guide our approach, we have grouped key community safety elements into four priority areas. In practice, we recognise there is significant overlap in all four areas.
