A week of tennis making a grand slam in Prahran
The 2024 Australian Open is in full swing, and Prahran is the place to be if you want to enjoy the on-court action and summer vibes closer to home.

Serving Up Live tennis at Prahran Market
18-23 January
It all starts at Prahran Market, where there will be live tennis from Melbourne Park on the big screen from January 18 to 23. Things then kick up a level on Saturday and Sunday, with the Oltre ‘40 Love Bar’ and BetterDays Drinks open, and plenty of specials from our traders.
Hot Shots Tennis in Prahran Square
20-25 January, 1-3pm
Prahran Square will be hosting free Hot Shots clinics by NetSports from 1-3pm between January 20-25, for kids looking to follow in their tennis heroes’ footsteps and learn the game.
These tennis clinics are best suited for children aged 5-9, but other ages are welcome to participate.
AO Finals Weekend in Prahran Square
25-28 January
As the tournament heats up heading into the final matches, Prahran Square will be showing the weekend’s matches on the big screen.
Watch your favourite players live and soak up the tennis fever with friends and family in our award-winning urban parkland.
Court hire in Prahran
If watching the AO has given you the itch to pick up a racquet and hit the court yourself, there are courts available for hire at Princes Gardens. Simply visit the Tennis Australia website, view a list of available booking times and make your selection.
Tennis coaching is also available at Malvern Tennis Centre and Orrong Park Tennis Centre for adults and kids alike. Bookings for coaching sessions can be made via NetSports.
